I Wish.

The enchanting tales I hear about this allegedly coveted world called "Adulthood" makes it less and less desirable for me. The inevitable world that awaits all of us painted in colors of blue and yellow is rather a gray world waiting to engulf us in. It charms us with its mythical promises of independence, love, freedom, wealth and fame only to push us into the depths of responsibilities, loneliness, betrayal and oblivion.

I, for one, used to be keen to grow up and live on my own terms but quite latterly I have come to realize that the price we pay for the attainment of said freedom and power is higher than its value. The fear I have seen, the struggle I have witnessed, the tears I’ve wiped, the stories I’ve heard and the pain I have seen that ‘Adults’ go through often terrify me of this transition that I ought to make.

I often desiderate to be a child for as long as I can. There is a certain equanimity in the naiveness of childhood. A tranquility that gives you a purpose of being. To be pampered and cared for by parents. To revel every moment of life. To innocently love, laugh and live. To be valued and cherished by loved ones.  All these beauties of childhood hold me back and make me wish to never grow up.
